Q: What type of hair does Getting Wiggy Hair sell?

A: We sell 100% virgin hair. Our hair has not been chemically processed. Some hair may have steam processing for curl or wave patterns (Please note: our steaming process does not involve chemicals). We also sell RAW virgin hair. Raw hair is 100% unprocessed hair collected from one donor. The hair is directly cut from a donor and immediately wrapped into a bundle in order to keep all cuticles intact and in the same direction. This is the highest quality hair in the world, as it is 100% natural.

Q: How many bundles should I purchase?

A: For 14″ to 20″ lengths, you can purchase 3 bundles. For 20″ to 30″  lengths, we recommend purchasing 4 bundles for desired fullness with your install.

Q: How long will Getting Wiggy Hair extensions hair last?

A: We proudly stand behind our hair and the fact that our extensions will last for as long as you take care of them. We have clients who have re-installed our hair over and over again. Our extensions can easily last you 6 months to a year and even longer with proper care.

Q: Can I wash/straighten/apply heat/and/or swim in my extensions?

A: Yes. Be sure to use a good quality shampoo and conditioner on your hair. This will help maintain luster and softness, as with your own natural hair. Always use a heat protectant prior to applying any heat to your extensions. This will prevent heat damage. If you are swimming, be sure to immediately wash the chlorine/salt water out of your hair. Not doing so, can cause matting/tangling, and dryness in your extensions.

Q: Can I dye my extensions?

A: Yes. However, we highly recommend consulting a professional for any coloring of the extensions.

Now that you have your gorgeous hair, it is important to take proper care of your investment.

-Wrap your hair nightly with a silk scarf or bonnet (doing so helps lock in moisture and eliminates unnecessary shedding/tangling).

-Under your scarf,  your hair should be twisted/braided into pigtails/plaits or put in a bun (this helps the hair from matting and tangling while sleeping).

-Seal your wefts before installing your extensions to ensure the longevity of your hair. Weft sealants can be found at your local beauty supply store.

-ALWAYS use heat protectant before using any kind of heated styling tools (in not doing so, your hair can become very brittle and produce split ends/breakage and frizzy/dry hair).

-CONDITION your hair at least once every week; SHAMPOO your hair once every 3 1/2 weeks (time-frame may vary depending on the amount of styling and product build up).

-ALWAYS comb/detangle from the tips to the roots with a wide tooth comb and/or detangling brush. These can be found at your local beauty supply store.

  • DO NOT:

*Cut your wefts- this causes shedding and thinning of your hair extensions.
*Sew through your wefts- this will cause the construction of your hair weft(s) to weaken, while also causing shedding and thinning of your hair extensions.
*Blow dry your hair- always let it air dry; blow drying has the possibility of causing heat damage and ruining your hair extensions.
*Use box dyes- only use professional consulting for adding any coloring or other chemicals to your extensions.

-Detangle your hair extensions ONLY when the hair is wet (detangling your hair while it’s dry can cause breakage, shedding, and hair loss).

-Detangle your curly/wavy hair EVERY morning and EVERY night before wrapping (please follow same wrapping instructions listed above).

-Use a leave-in conditioner/water mix to help keep your curls/waves moisturized.

-ALWAYS comb/detangle from the tips/ends up.

-Use a DAILY curling cream with water to help with moisture and to prevent shedding/tangling/interlocking of the curls/waves.
